Apple’s traditional September event passed featuring some upgraded iPads and Apple Watches. Well, what’s an annual meet without an iPhone? We hear rumours of a new addition to the iPhone 12 series which is scheduled for an October launch.

Earlier, leaks and rumours have suggested the release of four new iPhone devices called the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Max, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max. Now a leaker has predicted the smallest model (the one we expected to be the iPhone 12), may be called the iPhone 12 Mini.

Twitter account, L0vetodream  says the iPhone 12 Mini would be the smallest device amoung the four with a 5.4-inch display, making it bigger than the iPhone SE 2020. If so, the model we expected to be the iPhone 12 Max would be called the iPhone 12.

The iPhone 12 and 12 Pro are most likely to come with 6.1-inch screens, and the rumoured flagship iPhone 12 Pro Max is said to pack a 6.7-inch display upfront. The iPhone 12 Mini is rumoured to have a dual rear camera setup, while the rest are likely to sport a triple rear camera stack.

The term “Mini” is not new in Apple’s wold. We have seen iPad mini, Mac mini, and even the iPod mini back in the days. The iPhone 12 Mini will be the first in the iPhone lineup with that tag.

Apart from these leaks, there is not much info on the iPhone 12 yet. The iPhone 12 series is said to feature 60Hz refresh rate with Apple’s new A14 Bionic chipset.

It is a hexa-core CPU, which Apple claims could deliver up to a 40% boost in performance compared with the A12. The quad-core GPU could increase the graphics performance by 30%. The iPhone 12 series will also sport a new LiDAR sensor along with the cameras for a sophisticated 3D depth mapping.
